Eko's Landing and Surrounding Area

The Village of Eko's Landing

Eko's Landing is a small port village located on the northern continent of Fairwynys along it's west coast. Their main industry is mining silver from the Asha's Sorrow mine located just north of the village. Serving as a fairly regular trading port, they are able to accommodate several cargo and transport vessels at any given time. The main population is a mixed blend of humanoids, consisting primarily of humans, elves, and halflings with several others present as well. The approximate population is less than 500 individuals.

History

The town was originally settled by the survivors of the decimation on the Capital City of Moundstrap. The act was perpetrated by the forces of the Githyanki under the generalship of Erzherra. The region was originally under the control of some local Orc tribes and Goblin encampments. The settlers found themselves at odds with the Orcs and Goblins which resulted in the initial settlement being raided repeatedly after it's initial founding. These conflicts continued until the arrival of an Elf named Eksome  "Eko" Olsford. Eko was a member of the Order's Arcane, which is based in the city of Gnomandy. At the time of his arrival, he was on a quest in pursuit of the Wind-Riders Gauntlet, which had been involved during the attack at Moundstrap. Coming upon the plight of the towns folk, he was able to marshal the locals and with the aid of Fira Mistsplitter, a powerful mage living in the region, was able to drive back the forces of Orcs and Goblins. Eko was instrumental in drafting and executing a signed treaty between the townsfolk and the tribes. In recognition of his involvement in safe guarding the village, it was named after him as Eko's Landing. Eko then established a residence in the village and used it as his base of operations for his relic hunting in Fairwynys.

Organization

The town is currently headed by an elected mayor, a halfling female named Heswise. She oversees the day to day operations of the town, as well as the near by Asha's Sorrow Silver Mine through a loosely organized town's council consisting of; Zyaz - Port Master, Hanfo - head of mining operations at Asha's Sorrow, and Adolous Drake - head of security operations. Heswise will also listen to the counsel of various towns members before arriving at any decision.

Notable Player Campaign Appearances

  • Wind Rider's Gauntlet - This town served as the first meeting place for the group that much later become Gunnie's Guardians. Operating out of Eko's Landing, the Guardians uncovered the quest to find the gauntlet by helping the town deal with a planar rift that had been opened in Asha's Sorrow, and the creatures that had arrived through it's portal. The group later returned towards the end of the campaign to see the results of their earlier interactions and the subsequent fallout.
