The Crimson Tide - Campaign Round 1

The team was assembled and ready to go. Ex-Special Agent Matt had gathered together a group of his old contacts on the backwater colony world of Jacob's Reach. A dust ball of a planet but a good starting place for what they were aiming to do - making the fringe a little safer for the average folks. But first the needed to get the lay of the land.

To prepare for any upcoming combat missions, Linda and Tyris agreed to do some sparing while guarding the ship. Matt knew they'd need to look for some work in order to start sniffing out some criminal elements that needed squashing. He had some contacts on the planet that could set him up with suitable jobs. Meanwhile, he tasked Sebastian, A-113, and Jeb with getting supplies and other gear for any possible missions. The crew set out on their given tasks and looked to reconvene later in the day.

Matt wandered down into the administrative district to meet up for drinks with an old pal of his. A local government administrator named Frank. The two met at a nice cantina and went straight to business. A local group of tech gangers were hold up at an access terminal in the warehouse district that contained some sensitive information. If the gangers could be chased away, someone could access the terminal and wipe the files. There was also a target of opportunity near by. The building that housed the terminal also contained some important records that Frank needed. If Matt's team could retrieve those, it'd but much appreciated. The job needed to be done right away however, as the tech gangers were almost through the firewall and could get access to the sensitive information. Matt agreed to the job and said his crew would take care of it.

While leaving the cantina to head back to the ship, Matt was stopped by a well dressed gentlemen on the street. He said he worked for the sector government office and over heard Matt's deal with Frank. He told Matt "I have a job for you when you're done." and handed him his business card then walked on. With a bemused look, Matt pocketed that card and started heading back to the ship.

Returning to the ship, Matt found the rest of the crew had also had a successful day. Sebastian had been able to press a local contact for some criminal activity reports, A-113 had gathered some military grade weapons from an old arms dealer contact and Jeb has gathered some near gear from the markets.

All kitted up and ready to go, the crew made their way under the cover of night to the warehouse district. The building was easy enough to find. The local haze was also pretty think so it would cover their approach of the building.

Sneaking up to the building, the outer guards were dispatched with no trouble. Once inside, Matt made his was to the terminal and took out the tech ganger trying to hack it. Hacking the terminal and wiping the files were child's play to him.

While Matt took care of the terminal, his crew scared off the remaining gang members and grabbed the near by documents of interest.

The next day, Matt met up with Frank to confirm the job was done and to hand over the recovered documents. As a bonus, Frank added a few extra credits for the documents. Matt was just about to leave when a public announcement came across the public speakers;

"Attention citizen's of Jacob's Reach.

By order of the Unity Authority, a no-fly order has been placed on the planet. All currently docked ships will remain so until further notice.

Thank you and have a pleasant day."

With that, Matt began to make his way back to the ship. He figured they'd have some time to follow-up with the mysterious sector administrator and see what he needed done.
